Education

I received my Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (concentration in pre-physical therapy) at the conclusion of the fall semester of 2014 from Texas State University-San Marcos. My GPA at Texas State was a 3.65. I received all A's in my math, chemistry, and physics classes. While working as a tutor at Texas State, I also became a certified tutor/peer adviser.

Experience

"Why should I choose this tutor?" This is the important question anybody on this site asks before getting in touch with that tutor. There are three reasons why you should choose me: 1) I'm the best at what I do. I know the science of tutoring. Every person is a different human being and therefore everyone needs to be tutored in a different way from everyone else. I am able to use my interpersonal skills to find out the best way to help a person succeed in their classes and I adapt my strategy to compliment the person I am tutoring. 2) I take my tutoring very seriously. I plan out each and every tutoring session that I do. I make invoices and document everything that goes on in a tutoring session in order to continuously get better at tutoring the person I am tutoring. I became a certified tutor so that I could become more professional about my tutoring. 3) I'm passionate about tutoring too. It is more than a job for me; tutoring is a big part of who I am. Tutoring has helped give me a purpose. I have discovered my skill of tutoring people one-on-one and how good I have become at tutoring. I have 5+ years of being a tutor and other experiences working one-on-one with people to achieve their goals. I started tutoring in the fall of 2011 working on Texas State campus with Student Support Services. I worked with students with learning disabilities (ADD, ADHD, OCD, deafness, blindness) and I met with them once or twice a week throughout the semester. I spent two years (six total semesters, including two summer semesters) working with well over 60 different students and during my time there I became a highly demanded tutor and did not have a problem filling up my available work time. After two years at Student Support Services, I switched over to becoming a private tutor and used UniversityTutor to expand beyond Texas State campus and reach out to people looking for a tutor in the surrounding areas. These past two years I have incorporated online tutoring into my tutoring business so that I can tutor people even if they are hours away from me. Payment in these cases is done through PayPal (very easy to set up and extremely secure). I charge $40 for online tutoring and $45 for nearby in-person tutoring appointments (the extra money covers travel expenses).

Hobbies

I am a HUGE San Antonio Spurs fan. I enjoy keeping up with just about any sport (hence the reason why my degree is in exercise and sports science). I play fantasy football and fantasy basketball and I love a good challenge. I'm a sucker for strategy games. My favorite game to play is Catan (it's a game that can ruin good friendships if you're not careful). I also enjoy finding new ways to expand myself and become a more complete person.
